Welcome to SIS!
The Stockholm International School has been operating for a very long time. It opened its doors in 1951 with a small Kindergarten class.
SIS keeps increasing its enrollment and today the school has a population of 550 students.
SIS is a modern International school and it is situated in the city centre of Stockholm. SIS is a Grade K-12 school and it offers the internationally recognized programmes such as IPC, MYP/IB and IB Diploma. SIS also offers “Stockholm International School Diploma” which gives students the opportunity to apply to many different universities around the world.
SIS is a very culturally diverse school. We have students from approximately 50 different countries and our staff population from about 15 different countries. It is important to us that our students understand, respect and value each other differences. By respecting and understanding each other’s differences great friendships are built.
Our international curriculum is under constant review to ensure that we maintain a high level of education.
The school also offers an extracurricular programme, which provides students with further opportunities to reach the very highest level of achievement and performance. The extracurricular programme consists of an instrumental programme, physical education programme, choir and many other activities.
Each year the school organizes school trips for all students in the MYP and IB in order for our students to get to know each other as well as learn more about Sweden and its culture.
SIS works in close cooperation with the PTA (Parent Teacher Association). They organize different activities for staff, students and parents. The PTA has coffee mornings for new parents at the school as well as old parents and they organize many different activities for parents at the school.
We want for our students to feel that they are VALUED, CHALLENGED and PREPARED for the next phase in their life.
Once more I would like to welcome you to Stockholm International School.
