Middle Years ProgramStockholm International School is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Stockholm International School believes is important for our students.
The MYP is the first of the International Baccalaureate Organization programs implemented by the SIS. We offer all five levels of the program, Grades 6-10. The three programs share an emphasis on international understanding, responsible citizenship, the importance on learning how to learn and communication.
The MYP provides an academic challenge within the framework of a holistic curriculum. The curriculum includes Mathematics, Science, Visual and Expressive Arts, Humanities, English, Swedish, Spanish or French, Technology and Physical education. Cross-curricular links are created through the Areas of Interaction: Approaches to Learning, Community and Service, Health and Social Education, Environments and Human Ingenuity.
Grading is done according to the set of assessment criteria for each subject published by the International Baccalaureate (IB).
